essons To Be Learnt From Olympics

While the Olympics end, India is still feeling the pride that our players have managed to acquire some positions. As a matter of mention, our players finished the Olympic tour successfully with 7 medals and ranked 48th, the best in over 4 decades.

While India looks forward to global domination in the coming years, these games and the sportsperson managed to teach us many lessons. While anything in the world can be a subject matter to learn, we share what we had managed to learn.

1. Success is no accident: Be it games, academics, finance, and anything, Success always comes to those who show perseverance, do not get demotivated by a failure, are patient enough to attain goals, and last but not least, who are hardworking like Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, Women Hockey team players. For their success credit goes to their hard work. Many times we listen to people degrading other’s success as mere luck. Our sportsmen have shown us that nothing is just mere luck. Behind every success story, there are untold stories of sacrifices.

2. No person lost trying: There may be a person who is lost due to quitting, but a person who is always trying, is never a loser. Often, failure manages to destroy a person’s morale. Indian Hockey team is such one icon that has shown impeccable consistency reflecting the importance of trying. The Most iconic achievements are by people who never quit trying.

3. That one moment: Sometimes, learning all alone may not be sufficient. Years of practicing are to perform in that one moment. All the knowledge may fall useless if we can’t apply it at the right moment. They say, being at the right moment, doing the right thing, gives exponential results. The best example of this is Neeraj Chopra. The presence of mind always manages to do miracles. One pound of learning may need ten pounds of common sense to apply it.

4. Stress: Stress has become a new-age problem. Almost everyone you and I know is handling their mental stress. Our athletes carried the weight of expectations of more than a billion people on their shoulders, yet managed to stand strong and confident. While stress is becoming an inseparable part of our lives, efficient management of stress is the key to success. Be aware, if one can’t handle stress, one can’t handle success.

5. It’s the Journey that matters: Often people forget to embrace their journey in rush for the goal. Looking back, they might have missed out on beautiful and proud moments all along their journey. Embrace today to enjoy a complete tomorrow. Everyone can manage to reach their goal one day or the other. It’s the journey that makes the difference.

6. Every end is a new beginning: Though at times, it may seem everything is finished, there is always a new beginning for one with hope. Just like the end of this Olympic tour marks beginning of a new era of Indian Sports, today’s failure ends up creating a beautiful beginning. Take a deep breath and start again.

7.Stop making Excuses: History is never reshaped by people who gives excuses. As we witnessed, Mirabai Chanu honored every truck driver that helped her in her journey. Had she given the excuse of being unreachable to sports academy, there wouldn’t be a silver medal. Success starts at the point where one leaves behind all the excuses.

Conclusion :

In all the phases of life, we need to have patience, should be disciplined and pass through all the ups and downs till we reach our goals. The players filled the hearts of all of us with so much pride, that we, Indians started taking lessons of sports as well as of life from them. I am sure, we can implement some of these lessons in our life.
